Review by hotel critic
During my recent romantic escape at Hotel San Donato - Bologna Centro, I was enchanted by its splendid location just a five-minute walk from the vibrancy of Piazza Maggiore, where Bologna's rich history can be felt at every corner. The comfortable and air-conditioned room featured a charming balcony that offered an intimate view of the city's famed medieval rooftops, evoking a perfect glimpse into Italy's storied past. my companion and I stole moments of joy at the rooftop terrace bar, where the breathtaking panorama of Le Due Torri created a picturesque backdrop, particularly at sunrise with a cappuccino in hand. The staff's genuine warmth added an extra layer of hospitality, making us feel as though we were cherished guests in a treasured historic home. Each day’s simple yet abundant breakfast was served on a beautiful veranda, filling our mornings with both delightful local flavors and splendid views—the ideal start to explore Bologna’s exquisite charm and history.
